AFL Sweden and the Danish Australian Football League (DAFL) are the prouds hosts of the EC2010. Why us? We think that the advantages are apparent. First of all, the region is centrally located in Europe and very accessible not only due to excellent train connections and road infrastructure but largely due to two international airports. This will make it easy and affordable for teams to get here. Second of all, from various tournaments like the well known Sheep Stations Cup and the organization of the Swedish nationals, the VB Cup, we have extensive experience in organizing tournaments. This, on top of catering for one of the top 16-a-side competitions in the non-English speaking world, makes us confident that we possess the relevant know-how. Thirdly, we are lucky to have outstanding facilities at hand with five full-sized ovals within a radius of less than 40 kilometres. And almost uniquely in Europe, the area can see the better part of two teams accommodated locally. In all, we are convinced that we can host such an event, combining the manpower, experience, and enthusiasm of two established national bodies, enabling a smooth and professional tournament, while keeping the costs for participating teams low.

Both leagues are providing experienced and dedicated key personnel to ensure a smooth organisation of the event. Together, the two official bodies of Australian Football setup an organising committee including three members.

Jörg Pareigis - President of AFL Sweden

Jörg is a Ph D student in business administration at Karlstads University. He is born and raised in Germany but spent the last decade of his life living, studying and working around the globe. His first footy club has been the Port Malmö Maulers in Scania, who successfully compete in the DAFL. Co-founder and ex-president of the Karlstad Eagles he is now president of AFL Sweden. Jörg had a major role in the organisation of the inaugural VB Cup, Sweden's inofficial championship.

Daniel McClaer - President of DAFL

Daniel is from Melbourne and moved to Sweden in 2004. He is the former coach of the Port Malmö Maulers and initiated the first junior footy program in Sweden. Daniel is the current president of the Danish Australian Football League.

Mattias Andersson - Helsingborg Saints

Mattias received a degree from Malmö Högskola in sport science and is playing for Helsingborg Saints, where he is also a member of the board. He has extensive experience from different assignments in football events both at national as well as at international level. Mattias also held several positions in different boards within the football associations and clubs.

Ian Hill - Founder of the Footyrecord

Ian is a born and bred Melburnite who moved to Denmark in 1991. His entire playing career consisted of six decidedly indifferent years in DAFL from 1992 to 1997, but since then has had alot to do on the administrative side of footy in Denmark. He helped founding the club in Farum, runs DAFL's website, is a DAFL Life Member, a mad Richmond supporter, and the former president of the Danish Australian Football League. He is also the brain behind the well-known footy database 'The Footyrecord' (TFR).
